Haunted House Logo Designs

During the month of October, there will be several Halloween-design themed postings in celebration of the upcoming spooktacular holiday. This next entry focuses on the sometimes intricately devious creations of haunted house logos, and the not so horrifically intriguing designs that someone has slapped together.

What draws your attention to a haunted attraction? Before word of mouth, before stepping foot across the threshold of impending doom that awaits you; you see a campaign or marketing ploy to reel you in. A thoughtfully designed logo can do that and much more.

Usually, you would want to showcase a bit of what your haunt has to offer when thinking of a brand/logo design. Say you have a haunted attraction with the name, Heart Stopper Fright; you would think to have something representing either a heart that has ceased to beat, a flatline image design, or some character having the holy-ghost scared out of them. In more obscure names such as, Survival; you may have to think a little outside the box; a shadowed vision of a person barely escaping a terrible demise, or clever usage of bloodied or battered survival equipment would bring intrigue and a nice touch.

Let's take a look at some of the logos for haunted attractions around the United States:

PENNHURST ASYLUM / BATES MOTEL & HAUNTED HAYRIDE
- Philadelphia, PA

NETHERWORLD HAUNTED HOUSE

THE ASYLUM / 13th FLOOR HAUNTED HOUSE
- San Antonio, TX

CIRCUS OF SUPERSTITION in 3D

Halloween Advertising

The only holiday that actually rivals Christmas in popularity (in my humble opinion) is Halloween. From an early age, I have had an affinity for this holiday that is not actually a "holiday" (meaning we don't get the day off of work or the kiddos don't get let out of school early for the "Halloween Holiday"). The warm, Fall tones of the fallen leaves, the brisk air passing by your face, the costumes, the scares, the haunted attractions and awesome horror movies...but most people tend to forget about what brings Halloween into perspective.

A D V E R T I S I N G !

Advertising for Halloween is how you recogonize Halloween, aside from the tricks and treats; a huge banner stating, SPIRIT HALLOWEEN STORE, or a giant billboard with a creepy asylum and a skull reading, SCREAMWORLD HAUNTED HOUSE - NEXT EXIT; these each bring that exciting bit of advertising to the haunted holiday we all enjoy! Check out some premier advertising and marketing designs throughout the years for Halloween.
